Cllr Louise Elston-Reeves of TCC says "We are proud of our tradition of coming together to mark such important events and VE/VJ day will be no different. WE are inviting the whole community to come together to mark this historic occasion."
We will be holding community singing and bell ringing at St Gwendolines church May 8 form 6pm onwards, followed by beacon lighting, a lantern procession to the town's war memorial where a wreath will be laid.
A street party will be held May 10 at midday in the town square, where we can have a sing along and play traditional party games.
All residents and visitors are encouraged to bring their own food and drink, the town council will be providing light refreshments for each table.
